Dr. Goertzen is currently based in Lake Country, BC in the Central Okanagan where she is providing psychological assessments for children and adolescents. The assessment services she provides are comprehensive and evidence-based.

Dr. Goertzen completed her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in neuropsychology and developmental psychology, at Simon Fraser University. Her doctoral research studied the neural correlates of emotional face processing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She finished her residency in Neuropsychology through the Edmonton Consortium Clinical Psychology Residency program, completing rotations in pediatric brain injury, pediatric epilepsy, general adult neuropsychology, and geriatric neuropsychology. She has been working with children and adolescents in a variety of roles since completing her training in 2012.

Prior to entering the private sector, Dr. Goertzen worked at B.C. Children's Hospital completing neuropsychological assessments for children and adolescents with complex medical needs, including surgical epilepsy. She then moved to Manitoba where she worked at a mental health treatment centre, providing psychological assessments for children with variety of social, emotional, and behavioural concerns, including ASD. She also worked for the Turtle Mountain School Division, completing psychoeducational assessments for students with Learning Disabilities and ADHD. Additionally, Dr. Goertzen was contracted by the Manitoba FASD Centre to do neuropsychological assessments for children with suspected FASD. She is a member of the College of Health & Care Professionals of BC (formerly known as the College of Psychologists of BC), the BC Psychological Association, and the Canadian Psychological Association.

Dr. Goertzen moved to the Okanagan in 2021 and currently enjoys hiking with her dogs, spending time with family, skiing, and paragliding in her free time.
